as a subject, though, have been joined by landscapes, flowers, dolphins, dogs and other
wildlife. “I’ve always loved
Equestrian Art,” explains Melody, “and horse painting
was a natural extension of this passion”.
“I’m extremely fond of all things
Equestrian, and I’ve worked around horses all my life,
as for other animals, I love cats, dogs, as well as other furry creatures. I'm also fond of
Dolphins”.
Bronze Sculpture Art
In my mind, I've seen an image and with my hands, I've worked to make that image come alive,
to breathe, to look as if it is about to jump off the table. What an amazing feeling to see
my dreams become real, as the shape of a magnificent sculpture evolves from a few wires and
clay.
Melody's
bronze sculptures are created using the lost wax method which preserves the
greatest amount of detail. This is good as her work is noted for its fine detail, anatomical
correctness, and a realistic quality that almost brings each piece of art to life. The attention
to beauty of line and form in both her two and three dimensional creations set her work apart
from others. Having raised and shown horses for most of her life, Melody has that personal
insight to the character and beauty that is the horse, as well as those intimate moments that
are so precious to all horsemen. Her custom portrait commissions, original paintings and
bronzes are prized by collectors, and are found in a number of art collections.
